9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Sunday mornings
The Discipleship Ministry D’Ship4Life (adult programming) will be offering two Sunday classes this fall.
First will be “General Introduction to the Bible,” led by John Moore. This class will examine such fundamental questions as 1) Who wrote the Bible and when? 2) Which books belong to it and how did they get chosen? 3) Has it been accurately preserved? 4) Has it been adequately translated? As this class goes forward, we anticipate a rhythm between study of specific books of the Bible and classes about the Bible and Christian faith.
Our second Sunday class will start with a study of a book with a provocative title: “What’s the Least I Can Believe and Be a Christian?” by Martin Thielen. Genee Coles is the contact person for this, & other books will be discussed later.
If you have any ideas for other adult (older children of God) classes, we can entertain these, and we may see them flower as our offerings increase. Bring any such ideas to Jonathan Ice or anyone else on the DM committee.
We also look upon three other non-Sunday offerings as supportive of the D’Ship mission: 1) the Monday morning “Living Beyond the Sanctuary” discussion group, 2) the periodic classes on Gifts Awareness conducted by Carol Sindelar, and 3) Glenn McDonald’s October 8 seminar on the Disciple-Making Church. We hope the “grown-ups” at Echo Hill will find one or more of our offerings interesting and rewarding.
